Elecciones Generales 2008: Liveblogging

domingo, marzo 09, 2008

I begin here the live-blogging of the General Spanish Elections 2008. We will have to wait for around two hours to reach the final results.

The preliminary polls indicate that Socialists are very near an absolute majority so they could get to the Government with no need to pact with any other political force... But those haven't any basis on real data so we must wait till the first results.

20:48: First results will be available around 22:30 (Spanish time).

21:11: With 9% of the vote examined: 164 Socialists, 136 Popular Party according to the Interior Ministry's website.

21:27: 172 PSOE, 144 PP.

21:31: 170: PSOE, 150: PP (33% considered).

21:44: 171: PSOE, 150:PP (38,70% of the vote considered).

21:57: 171: PSOE; 150:PP (56,9% of the vote considered).

There is a tendency of PSOE lowering its percentage of vote (at first it was 48%, now it's 44,83%). And PP going up: at first it was 35%, now it's 39,26%. But we can say that the Socialists have AGAIN won the elections...

22:06: 169: PSOE; 152: PP. (64,58% of the vote considered).

22:08: 168 PSOE (44,55%); 154: PP (39,53%) (67,08% of the vote considered).

22:11: 169 PSOE (44,47%) PP: 153 (39,57%) (69% of the vote considered).

22:14: 168 PSOE (44,41%) PP: 154 (39,65%) (71,45% of the vote considered).

22:19: 168 PSOE (44,34%); PP: 154 (39,69%) (73,33% of the vote considered).

Basically, Socialists are concentrating the votes from both Nationalists and Communists which have nearly disappeared from Parliament. This can boost the extremism of the Government: Zapatero can even get harder in next term...

22:23: 168 PSOE (44,22%); 154 PP (39,82%) (76,66% of the vote considered).

22:25: 168 PSOE (44,17%); 154 (39,88%) (78,27% of the vote considered).

22:28: 167 PSOE (44,11%); 155 (39,93%) (79,73% of the vote considered).

22:36: 168 PSOE (44,05%); 154 (40,00%) (82,15% of the vote considered).

22:42: 167 PSOE (43,96%); 155 (40,15%) (84,30% of the vote considered).

Zapatero wants to speak but he cannot do it because there are a lot of supporters who are delighted with the results... He has begun, at last, remembering the victims murdered by ETA and by the terrorism.. He says "they live in our memory". High participation, which is a motive of happiness... And thanks to the citizens who have contributed to a clear victory of teh Socialist party. "Four years ago you asked me not to fail you... so I have made all the efforts not to fail you.

I will lead this country for all but thinking before all in those people that haven't all.

I will lead to make reality the Women's aspirations, the Youth's hopes.

I will lead to make sure that Spain is compromised with peace
.

Llamazares is asking the supporters to consider if he can continue or not. But he is not going to opt for re-election in United Left (communists).

23:01: 167 PSOE (43,84%); 155 PP (40,15%) (89,69% of the vote considered).

23:17: 168 PSOE (43,79%); 154 PP (40,14%) (92,36% of the vote considered).

0:06: 169 PSOE (43,72%) 154 PP (40,13%) (96,34% of the vote considered).

SO THE ANTI-ZAPATERO RESISTENCE CONTINUES.... IF HE DOES NOT INSTALL CENSORSHIP FOR ANTI-SOCIALISTS...

Results in 2004: PSOE: 164; PP: 148.
