Kareem update

Well, looks like I got it confused and thought that Kareem could not appeal his four-year in jail sentence. Actually, he can and his lawyers have appealed it, knowing that the punishment only can be reduced. The appeal has been set for March 12.

There is a video that shows that he was kick after exiting tribunal. After the trial the prosecutor lawyer, Mohamed Dawoud (above), called for wajing jihad against the "likes of Kareem" (FreeKareem.org).

Los abogados de Kareem, el blogger egipcio sentenciado a 4 años por criticar al Islam y a Mubarak, presentaron ayer el recurso contra la sentencia, sabiendo que en caso de que gane, sólo verá disminuida su sentencia y en ningún caso se producirían una excarcelación inmediata.

FFE escribe sobre un artículo en el Daily Mail sobre la blogo-actividad egipcia, que se ha convertido en un ejemplo para la región. El artículo se refiere entre otros a Sandmonkey o a Big Pharaoh (ahora retirado temporalmente).
