Spanish Communist leader to convert to Islam?

I do not know if this is true, but, if it is, I would like Mr. Llamazares to make an statement. Translation below:

Translation:

Gaspar Llamazares, general coordinator of United Left, has been living for some months, in a spiritual crossroad that can lead him to convert to Islam, as has declared to Alerta Digital, the MP and president from the Commission of Spanish-Moroccan Friendship in the Parliament of Rabat, Yahia Yahia, one of the politicians of the neighbouring Kingdon who has better contacts with the Spanish MPs. It seems that Llamazares' conversion has been one of the best guarded secrets in his entourage. Yahia commented to our newspaper that, according to his informations, Llamazares has been lectured throughout some months by one of the main authorities of the Islamic religion in Spain. According to the same sources, during some months, with expert teachings, Llamazares has been studying and meditating on the Koram and other various religious treaties that “could had driven him to find the inner peace that all human beings are searching for”. “It's very normal”, he continues, “that a lot of European Communists end coverting themseleves to the Muslim faith”. He also comments an important percentage: 70% of the Spanish citizens who converted into Islam in the last 15 years come from organisations belonging to the radical left or to anti-system groups.

The Llamazares' compromise with the religion founded by Mohammed more that 1.500 years ago, was shown when it was known the letter sent to the Pope by Mansur Escudero, leader of the Spanish Islamic Council, asking for the conversion of the Cathedral of Cordoba into a “singular ecumenical place”. Llamazares stated to Europa Press that in a “religious building” so important as it is, “where there has been several confessions making their rites”, from an “open” view, it was normal that, the Islamic religion, with the Catholic, should have a “participation”.

Llamazares' statements went farther that the ones of the Major of Cordoba, Rosa Aguilar, also Communist, who told Muslims to use the Cathedral for their own prayers. Of course, if the question would have been asked in inversely proportional terms -that is, if it would have been about the use by Turkish Christians of the Mosque of St. Sofia (which was before an Orthodox Cathdral)- it's more than probable that Llamazares' point of view would not have been the same.

For a retrospective on Cordoba's Cathedral, click here [link in Spanish]: The nowadays' Cathedral was built in the Mosque. But this one was also built in a Visigothic Christian Church. “The prayer room of the antique Mosque was built on a room sanctified previously for the Christian cult, property of the Christian community which was expelled from their church only for right of conquest". During those 50 years both Muslims and Christians held their prayers there and it was terribly unsuccesfull.
