En realidad, le ha dicho que se acabó eso de "dialogar" con la guerrilla colombiana porque no hay ningún resultado y porque además Chávez se ha permitido el lujo de hablar directamente con el jefe de las fuerzas armadas colombianas para pedir información sobre los secuestrados, sin consultarlo con Uribe:

In a statement, President Alvaro Uribe said he had withdrawn his support for Chavez because Chavez had spoken directly with the head of the Colombian armed services to request information about the hostages. The statement said this violated an agreement between Uribe and Chavez. Chavez was trying to broker a deal in which hostages held by the rebels, including former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, would be exchanged for guerillas held in government jails.
