Hombre vigoroso islámico amenaza con "guerra abierta"

Pues sí, Al Sadr, al que tengo mucho cariño ha amenazado con una "guerra abierta" justo cuando se les está ganando al sur de Bagdad... Y ha urgido al Gobierno a tomar "el camino de la pazzzzz". Ha añadido que si no detiene a las "milicias que se han inflitrado en el Gobierno, declarará la guerra abierta hasta la completa liberación".

"Iraqi Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr has threatened to wage 'open war' on the Baghdad government if it does not halt operations against his supporters.

Moqtada Sadr said he was giving the government a 'last warning', and urged it to take 'the path of peace'.

His statement came as Iraqi troops, with US and UK support, clashed with his forces in Baghdad and the south.

In August the cleric's militia declared a ceasefire, pledging not to attack government or foreign soldiers.

'I'm giving the last warning and the last word to the Iraqi government,' Moqtada Sadr said.

'Either it comes to its senses and takes the path of peace... or it will be (seen as) the same as the previous government,' he added, referring to former President Saddam Hussein's fallen regime.

'If it does not stop the militias that have infiltrated the government, then we will declare an open war until liberation,' he added."

Lo divertido del asunto es que, mientras en otros sitios se dice que el Islam es la religión de la paz, las mezquitas chiíes de Bagdad a través de los minaretes han llamado a la guerra durante toda la noche.

Loudspeakers at mosques in Baghdad's Shiite bastion Sadr City blared out a call to arms soon after radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr warned of a new uprising by his militia, residents said Sunday.

Iraqi security and medical officials, meanwhile, reported another eight people killed overnight in clashes between militiamen and U.S. and Iraqi forces in the embattled township, where fighting has raged since late March.

"Fight the occupiers - get them out of your homes," the late-night loudspeaker messages said, according to residents. "They (U.S.) are calling for division...we demand that the siege of Sadr City be lifted."

The messages also urged the Iraqi army "not to fight your brothers."

Hay 8 personas muertas en los enfrentamientos entre la milicia de Al-Sadr alias "Dientes sucios" y el ejército de EEUU e iraquí.

Los altavoces decían "Luchad contra los ocupantes - mandadles a casa. Ellos (los EEUU) están llamando a la división, exigimos que el sitio de la Ciudad de Al-Sadr sea levantado". También se exigía al ejército iraquí "que no lucharan contra sus hermanos".

Parece que al Sadr se ha inspirado en las últimas declaraciones de Al-Zawahiri:

Al-Zawahiri also discusses what he calls the Muslims' longstanding economic crisis and political oppression at the hands of the Arab regimes, particularly the Egyptian government. He calls upon the Muslims to take matters into their own hands, saying: "Rights are not granted, but are claimed by force."

He concludes by urging Muslims to take to the streets, and to turn their mosques, schools, factories and universities into centers of support for jihad and resistance.

Al-Zawahiri discutió lo que él llama la crisis tan duradera de los musulmanes y la opresión política en las manos de los regímenes árabes (ohh, es que Al-Qaeda defiende tannnnto la libertad...), particularmente por el gobierno egipcio. Llama a los musulmanes a coger el toro por los cuernos, diciendo: "Los derechos no son dados si no exigidos por la fuerza". (Interesante....)

Concluye exigiendo a los musulmanes que tomen las calles y conviertan a sus mezquitas, escuelas, fábricas y universidades en centros de apoyo a la jihad y a la resistencia.

Condolezza, además de pedirle por carta privada que se lave de una vez los dientes, ha declarado que todo el mundo sabe que Al-Sadr está en Irán (arghhh, con Agggmi, ese otro hombre vigoroso islámico, salvo cuando ve al macho-man de Putin....), así que "sus seguidores pueden ir a la muerte mientras él está en Irán:

"I know he's sitting in Iran," Rice said dismissively, when asked about al-Sadr's latest threat to lift a self-imposed cease-fire with government and U.S. forces. "I guess it's all-out war for anybody but him," Rice said. "I guess that's the message; his followers can go too their deaths and he's in Iran."

Mientras el Gran Ayatolá Najafi de Iraq ha publicado una fatwa condenando a Al-Sadr.

Three days into the Basra campaign, Grand Ayatollah Najafi issued a fatwa, or religious opinion or edict, that declared the Iraqi government as the only force in the country with the right to bear arms.

His son, Sheik Ali Najafi, left little doubt that the clergy had backed the Iraqi army operations.

“We see this as a positive improvement... The people want the government to control the streets and the law to be enforced. No other groups,” he said, sitting in his study, furnished with cushions, a laptop and a clock bearing his father’s portrait.

Ha declarado que el gobierno iraquí es la única fuerza en el país con derecho a portar armas. Su hijo, el Jeque (todavía con estos títulos....) Ali Najafi, dejó pocas dudas de que el clérigo había apoyado las operaciones del ejército iraquí. "Vemos esto como algo muy beneficioso. La gente quiere que el gobierno controle las calles y que la ley sea cumplida. No que lo hagan otros grupos", dijo, sentado en su estudio, decorado con cojines, un portátil y un reloj con el retrato de su padre.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is calling on political parties to unite against armed groups in Iraq, a spokesman said Sunday, warning that "Iraq cannot be the new Somalia."

"It is a clear message," al-Maliki spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said of the situation in Iraq. "We cannot accept the presence of armed groups."

Somalia has been mired in chaos since 1991, when warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre and then turned on each other.
