The flag of Saudi Arabia flies over The Mall in London today as a major state visit by the Saudi dynasty begins. The Mall, which leads up to Buckingham Palace, is carrying a flag that declares: "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his Messenger".
La bandera de Arabia Saudí vuela sobre el Mall londinense cuando comienza la visita de la dinastía saudí. El Mall, que lleva hasta el Palacio de Buckingham, expone hoy una bandera que declara "No hay más Dios que Alá y Mahoma es su Mensajero (Profeta)".
No es para estar muy contentos, teniendo en cuenta el respeto a los Derechos Humanos que caracteriza al país saudí. Una muestra:
Mientras el rey Abdala Ben Abdulaziz Al Saud se encuentra de visita en Reino Unido intentando dar una imagen de apertura al resto del mundo y de defensa de los derechos humanos, la situación en el país árabe sigue demostrando que en Arabia Saudí se sigue la ley del «ojo por ojo y diente por diente». Así, en el día de ayer, las autoridades saudíes decapitaron a dos hombres condenados por asesinar a dos compatriotas. Los dos reos, Ibrahim al Saeed y Saad al Otaibi, fueron decapitados en la capital, Riad, el primero por disparar a un hombre y el segundo por apuñalar en el cuello a otro después de una pelea.
Arabia Saudí lleva a cabo una rigurosa interpretación del islam mediante la cual aquéllos condenados por asesinato, tráfico de drogas, violación y robo a mano armada son ejecutados en público con una espada para que el castigo sea público.
Con estas dos muertes de ayer, asciende a 119 el número de personas decapitadas en el reino árabe en lo que llevamos de año, cifra que está muy por encima de las 38 que se produjeron durante el año pasado o las 83 del año 2005.

Mientras esta visita tiene lugar, los ingleses están furiosos por la construcción de un cementerio multi-cultural para lo que se necesita desenterrar a más de 300.000 cadáveres:
It is a peaceful resting place for 350,000 souls - an historic graveyard which now serves as a nature reserve.
But plans are afoot to dig up the ancient graves at Tower Hamlets Cemetery - and reopen it as a 21st century burial site.
Officially it would be known as a "multi-faith" cemetery but it is likely that it would principally answer calls for a Muslim graveyard in the largely-Asian East London borough.

David Cameron intends to confront King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia today about the torrent of Saudi-sponsored extremist literature that is available in British mosques, The Times has learnt.
The Conservative leader will ask the Saudi King to curb the export of fundamentalist religious ideology in books and pamphlets that advocate the suppression of women’s rights, hatred for non-Muslims and the execution of lapsed Muslims.
His intervention will further destabilise the course of the Saudi state visit, which started badly when King Abdullah criticised Britain’s record on fighting al-Qaeda terrorism.
Mr Cameron will point to a study by the Policy Exchange think-tank that found extremist Saudi material at mosques in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester. He will also refer to a report by Dame Pauline Neville-Jones, his security adviser, that highlighted the problem of the spread of Saudi fundamentalism. She said in July that the Saudi Government had cracked down on al-Qaeda but “has not yet stopped its religious establishment from exporting extremism, intolerance and Wahhabi ideology across the world”.

Update at 12:45 p.m. ET: McDonough says they have a nuanced policy when it comes to women who are visiting Saudi Arabia as part of the first lady's delegation.
"According to our team, during any activities on your own time - going to the mall, going out of the hotel for dinner, etc - women need to follow Saudi law and wear an Abaya. During official meetings, it is not necessary," she writes in an e-mail to USA TODAY. "As per guidance from Embassy on the ground, as members of the official traveling party, we will not need to wear any head scarves or abayas at any point."
Resumiendo: que primero dijeron que no se la iba a poner y cuando llegó a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos se la puso y punto...
