Modern society is based largely on publicity. But people should be really convinced of their choices: they are not going to be good catholics, only with publicity, considering this only as a fan club or football club. Publicity is not the main thing, but compromise with Gospel values, conviction that's the way to discover God and love Him. And that's not given by publicity.

But we have to say that Catholicism is not well-considered by MSM: it has been once and again accused of all wrongs of Earth (just after the Jewish people) and every news about Catholic Church must always question its past or how bad Catholics have been throughout History (Inquisition is such a boring recurrence ever). But with Islam, it happens just the opposite: Muslims have never done anything wrong, Islam is the Religion of Peace ^(TM) and the rest of us should imitate them.

Seguimos con la publicidad. Las personas han de estar convencidas para ser católicas: no van a hacerse católicas, como si serlo fuera pertenecer a un club de fans o ser hooligans de un partido de fútbol. La publicidad no es lo principal, si no el compromiso personal con el Evangelio y la convicción de que ese es el camino para llegar a Dios y amarle. Y eso no lo va a dar la publicidad...

Ahora bien, sí hay que decir que los medios de comunicación tienen mucha culpa de que esto pase: el catolicismo ha sido acusado una y otra vez de todos los males habidos y por haber y prácticamente nunca se da una noticia sobre la Iglesia sin cuestionar su pasado o sin considerar lo malos que han podido ser los católicos en épocas pretéritas. En el caso del Islam, sin embargo, es todo lo contrario.

Pero si a los cuatro millones de católicos en Holanda, la única solución que se les ha ocurrido para publicitarse es llamar "Ramadán cristiano" a la Cuaresma, mal vamos. Menuda estrategia: es como la de esos curas, que para hacerse los modernos, quieren convertir las misas en una especie de concierto de rock con luces y todo...
