My post on Roots about Spain and the future modification of the Religious Freedom Act. Among other things, it means the equal consideration of Islam and Catholic Church in the name of democracy.

¿O no?

The seven islamists imprisoned at A Lama accused of March 11th bombings, ask for help to the prison's Catholic priest

lunes, junio 02, 2008

The islamists who are imprisoned in the Galician prison of A Lama after being condemned because of the March 11th bombings, which killed 191 and hurt 1824 people, have asked the Catholic Church for help.
The seven imprisoned -sentenced from 12 to 23 years in jail- have interviewed themselves with the prison's chaplain to try to reach their goals. Their target is to make the priest intercede in their behalf to benefit from pensions, company and ill people's attention which can only be reached by the Penitentiary Catholic Service, whose boss is the priest. Volunteers of the Catholic Pastoral Service have confirmed the contacts.
Hamid Ahmidan, Abdelmajid Bouchar, Rachid Aglif, Mohamed Bouharrat, Sael el Harrak, Basel Ghalyoun and Mohamed Larbi Ben Sellam, arrived in the end of November 2007 to the Pontevedra's prison. One of them knew it already, because he spent the time before the process in it, as "preventive imprisoned". He is Hamid Ahmidan, The Chinese's cousin, one of the seven suicide terrorist of Leganés and leader of the criminal organization whose benefits -primarily from the drug trafficking- contributed to the financing of the terrorist attacks.
The seven Islamists are in the same part of the prison and are isolated from the rest of the imprisoned population in individual cells. They only are entitled to four hours in the yard and to two hours to practice sports and study. The rest of the day they are in their cells.
The Islamists' strategy to resort to the Catholic priests to improve their situation in prison, is not only used in A Lama. They already stated in their conversation with the priest that in the prisons they were before that moment, they had the assistance of Catholic priests.
A Lama's chaplain, according to the same sources, did not have any problem to speak with them in what they described as a "first contact", because that is something it's normally done with the imprisoned guys who apply for it, whether they are Catholic, Muslim or Agnostic.
"The main objective of all the Penitentiary Pastoral is the service and attention to the people who are deprived of freedom of their families, and their accompaniment and integration through workrooms, but that does not mean at all justifying their crimes or motives that could cause their internment in prison", the responsible of the program stated.
Football let them began to speak in the first meeting. Real Madrid, which had won the Spanish League those days, and the situation of the Barcelona centered the first part of the conversation between the Islamists of the March 11th terrorist attacks and the A Lama's chaplain.
After that, the imprisoned Islamists got interested in the possibility that the priest interceded for them to get benefits through the Penitentiary Pastoral to have the opportunity of receiving personal mail.
In Spain the packages for the inmates, even if they are duly inspected, before reaching them, cannot be sent by mail and should be given by hand. A job which is done generously by the team of laic volunteers to whom it's solicited for not having any relatives or because they live far away.
Even if the risk exists of recurring to one of their main enemies, the Catholic Church, to clean their image, the help petitions to Penitentiary Pastoral are something very regular among the elevated number of Muslim inmates (around 200, nearly 80% of all the foreign inmates in A Lama). Most of them are Moroccans or Algerians which are sheltered in their leave days in apartments which belong to the pastoral team.
Father Isaac, the chaplain of the Pontevedra's prison of A Lama, is cautious when being asked about the contacts maintained and states that this was only the first meeting, that it will be continued. About the fact that this group could have interviewed themselves with an Imam and not with a Catholic priest, he answers that there is freedom of belief inside the prison, "according to the Constitution" and they could have spoken with imams.
"The team of the Penitentiary Pastoral provides humanitarian and social help to the people that needs it and applies for it without asking about their religion", he assures. "It's a humanitarian service for the inmates. We don't ask them about their crimes", he concludes.
As Alawen says in the post, that gave me the tip, what a difference with this.

'Islamic mafia' accused of persecuting Holy Land Christians - Telegraph

domingo, marzo 30, 2008

'Islamic mafia' accused of persecuting Holy Land Christians - Telegraph:

"Christians in the Holy Land have handed a dossier detailing incidents of violence and intimidation by Muslim extremists to Church leaders in Jerusalem, one of whom said it was time for Christians to 'raise our voices' against the sectarian violence.

The dossier includes 93 alleged incidents of abuse by an 'Islamic fundamentalist mafia' against Palestinian Christians, who accused the Palestinian Authority of doing nothing to stop the attacks."

The dossier also includes a list of 140 cases of apparent land theft, in which Christians in the West Bank were allegedly forced off their land by gangs backed by corrupt judicial officials.

From the birthplace of Christ at Bethlehem to the site of his Crucifixion in Jerusalem, Christian Church leaders have long been desperate not to upset the delicate ethnic and sectarian balance in the region by blaming either Jews or Muslims for the decline of their once robust religious community.

That self-imposed silence now appears to be crumbling.

"The problem exists," said Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Jerusalem's senior Franciscan, known as the Custos of the Holy Land. "The Christian community has always suffered in the last few years because we are a minority. Many have the temptation to leave, so the community is shrinking."

While he stressed that "we are not talking about a confrontation with all Muslims", he added that "we don't want to see violations of the law - sometimes we have to raise our voices".

The alleged attacks on Christians have come despite repeated appeals to the Palestinian Authority to rein in Muslim gangs.

If they are waiting for the Palestinian Authority to act, I really believe they are going to exercise the virtue of patience for long.

Traduzco:

A day after he was received into the Catholic Church by Pope Benedict XVI during the Easter vigil, Magdi Allam, a widely known Italian Muslim, wrote a letter to his own paper on Easter Sunday in which he issued a twofold call: first to he encouraged other Muslims who have converted to Catholicism to come out publicly and secondly he called on the Church to be “less prudent” about converting Muslims.

****

In Italy there are thousands of converts to Islam who live serenely their new faith. But there are also thousands of Muslims converts to Christianity who are made to hide their faith because of the fear of being murdered by the Islamic extremistas living among us. Looks like that I was nearly inspired by the discrete hand of the Lord, to write my first article for the Corriere, on September 3rd 2003, titled "The new catacomb of the Islamic converts". It was an investigation about some neo-Christians who in Italy were denouncing their own deep spiritual and human loneliness, in the first place from the State's institutions who were not looking for their security and with the silence of the own Church. I hope that the historical gesture of the Pope and myself brings the convincement that the moment to go out of the darkness of the catacombs has come and that they should come to the openness and affirm publicly what they are. If we don't know in Italy, in the place of birth of Catholicism, in our home, to garantee everyone full religious freedom, how are we going to be credible when we denounce the violation of that freedom in other places around the world?

Oh, yeah... he has touched the main question... A type of man that we have run out for long...

****

Yahya Pallavicini, an Italian Catholic who turned to Islam and is now vice president of the Islamic religious community in Italy, said he respected Allam's choice but said he was "perplexed" by the symbolic and high-profile way in which he chose to convert.

"If Allam truly was compelled by a strong spiritual inspiration, perhaps it would have been better to do it delicately, maybe with a priest from Viterbo where he lives," Pallavicini told ANSA news agency.

lgf: 'Islamic Scholar' Denounces Pope

A Muslim scholar involved in high-level dialogue with the Vatican has denounced the Pope’s baptism on Saturday of a prominent Italian Muslim convert.

Aref Ali Nayed, the head of Jordan’s Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, called the baptism of journalist Magdi Allam a deliberate and provocative act. The Vatican has not yet commented, but its official newspaper said the gesture aimed to promote religious freedom. ...

In a stinging rebuke of Saturday’s televised ceremony, Mr Nayed denounced what he called “the Vatican’s deliberate and provocative act of baptising Allam on such a special occasion and in such a spectacular way”.

(...)"... nunca me he dedicado a insultar a la religión que he dejado atrás". No estamos tan avanzados todavía Señor Fernández.
"It looks like to me that this man is not a Muslim and he has never been one, but he does not know not understand what Islam really is", Yusuf Fernández, leader of the Muslim Federation of Spain (FEME). "I have never insulted the religion I have left behind". Well, perhaps he is not considering his own website: Webislam where Christianity and in particular Catholicism is bashed everyday. He does not understand why Allam has been baptised by the Pope, when in fact, the Pope every year baptises dozens of people, only it's required that it's possible regarding the agendas. He also says that "he does not want Allam to be a cinema star (¿?) because it's a normal person who has not the relevance of a Chief of State No se puede mostrar la imagen “http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/6357/huh4lc.gif” porque contiene errores.".

Pues, hale, hijo, ajo y agua...

< Pope Benedict XVI baptises journalist Magdi Allam (R) as he ...

Pope Benedict XVI baptises journalist Magdi Allam (R) as he celebrates a Easter Vigil mass in Saint Peter's Basilica at the Vatican March 22, 2008. Pope Benedict led the world's Catholics into Easter on Saturday at a Vatican service where he baptised Allam, a Muslim-born convert who is one of Italy's most famous and controversial journalists.

(Dario Pignatelli/Reuters)

De Jihad Watch:
"The Union of Islamic Communities in Italy — which Allam has frequently criticized as having links to Hamas — said the baptism was his own decision.

'He is an adult, free to make his personal choice,' the Apcom news agency quoted the group's spokesman, Issedin El Zir, as saying. [...]" -- from this article.

This merely means that, for now, given the image problems Islam has been having, official Islamic groups in Italy are going to lie about what is permitted, for fear of alarming and angering the Infidels further. Magdi Allam is frequently on Italian television (the RAI), writes frequently in the most important paper, the Corriere della Sera, and furthermore, was baptised by the Pope himself, which puts the Vatican squarely front and center. If anyone still needed proof that Benedict has got Islam's number, whatever little pretend pieties about Interfaith-Healing may come out of the Vatican, this is surely it.

Muslims in and out of Italy are enraged, and what makes them more enraged is that this apostasy has been so public. For under the swagger and threats and arrogance lies a suspicion that Islam really isn't so wonderful, that Muslim states and peoples haven't done so well, and that maybe, just maybe, it is Islam that helps to explain the permanent backwardness, even paralysis, of many Muslim peoples. That is why Muslims so carefully keep score, noting every Western convert to Islam over the centuries -- then there was this French doctor, and then there was that Englishman Marmaduke Pickthall, and that Italian -- as if proving to the world and to themselves just how fantastic Islam must be.

Regarding a combative tone that has made him famous in Italy, Allam wrote: "Over the years my spirit has been freed from the obscurantism of an ideology that legitimises lies and deception, violent death that leads to homicide and suicide, blind submission to tyranny."

He described Catholicism as "an authentic religion of Truth, Life and Freedom".

By baptising Allam in the public ceremony, the Pope "sent an explicit and revolutionary message to a church that until now has been too cautious in the conversion of Muslims ... because of the fear of being unable to protect the converted who are condemned to death for apostasy," Allam said.

Michael Ledeen:

My friend Magdi Allam, the deputy editor of the Italian newspaper il Corriere della Sera, has converted from Islam to Catholicism and was baptized the night before Easter in a service conducted by the pope in St. Peter’s in Rome. It’s a courageous act, but then Magdi Allam is a brave man. His outspoken criticism of Italian Muslim radicals–especially their support for the Muslim Brotherhood and for Hamas–had already produced threats to his life several years ago, and, ever since, the Italian Government has protected him, his home, and his Italian wife Valentina. The increasingly sloppy Andrew Sullivan calls on his readers to pray for Magdi, who Sullivan says is NOW at risk, when in fact he is accompanied by carabinieri whenever he moves around Rome, and his house is under constant surveillance. So far as I know, no attempt on his life has been made. But, like Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, he is precisely the sort of elegant, sophisticated and thoughtful person that sets the Islamic fundamentalists’ teeth on edge.

He has long spoken on behalf of moderate Muslims, and greatly admires Pope Benedict XVI for his courage in simultaneously criticizing the lack of Muslim toleration and openness to human reason. And he incurred the wrath of both leftists and Muslims when he wrote a best-seller entitled “Viva Israele!” whose contents you can easily imagine. He had been a non-practicing Sunni Muslim, but anyone familiar with his writing can see that he had a religious vocation, and it is no surprise that he has found comfort in the Church.

I rather suspect that Magdi had been mulling this action for quite a while, but it also seems likely that he chose this moment in order to stick his thumb in al Qaeda’s eye. Just a few days ago, an al Qaeda video with a voice claiming to be Osama bin Laden’s denounced the pope for supporting a new “crusade” against Islam, and warned Europeans that there would be retribution (I think it’s a pony, of course; I think bin Laden’s dead and buried).

A Chaldean Catholic archbishop kidnapped last month in northern Iraq has been found dead, the information service of the Italian Catholic Church said Thursday.

The body of Paulos Faraj Rahho, the archbishop of Mosul, was found near the northern city, the Church said, quoting the auxiliary archbishop of Baghdad, Shlemon Warduni.

"We recovered his body near Mosul," Warduni said, according to the Church's news agency SIR. "The kidnappers had buried him."
JW tiene más:
It was not clear whether the kidnappers had killed the archbishop or whether he had died from health problems. A medical examiner in the morgue, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, said the body had been buried and showed no signs of being shot. The examiner said Rahho might have been dead for a few days.

Y seguimos...

Reverse_Vampyr: Religion of Peace update: "Scholars" demand international dhimmi laws

More "tolerance" from the Religion of Perpetual Outrage, er, Peace.

Via the Yemen Observer:

behead.jpgThe re-publication of the Prophet cartoons by seventeen Danish newspapers last week was denounced by Muslims the world over. The controversy is not one of press freedom, but rather it feeds cycles of hatred and ignorance which only increase the gulfs between religions, according to the Prime Minister, Dr. Ali Mohammed Mujawr, in a support meeting organized by the Al-Eman University last Monday calling for defending the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

In his speech, Mujwar called for an international law that criminalizes religious insults and enforces mutual respect of religions, calling on all rationalists in the West to avoid such negative acts. “This can only increase the instability in relations among Islamic and Western nations,” said Mujwar.

I wonder if book burnings would help restore stability in relations among Islamic and Western nations?

In English IBA.

Muslim representatives and Vatican officials begin talks this week that they hope will lead to an unprecedented Catholic-Islamic meeting.

Five representatives from each side will meet on Tuesday for two days in Rome to work out the details of a larger meeting that will include Pope Benedict later this year.

“We have to bring the dialogue up to date following the great successes of the pontificate of John Paul II,” said Yahya Sergio Yahe Pallavicini, vice-president of the Italian Islamic Religious Community.

All of the above is just a long-winded way of saying that people always struggle for power and control of each other. Religious hatred is not about religion or ethnicity, but power. If religions provide power, people will fight and kill each other for it. If a group is seen to lack power, people who have less power than they feel they deserve will kill members of that group, or encourage others to do so, in order to feel more powerful. Today, newspapers like the New York Times and others are drifting toward advocacy of a new type of religious hatred: conflict between secularists and Christians. In view of the tragic history of past religious conflicts, they are playing with fire.

Ciertamente. Penoso, pero cierto... :(

Miss Kelly : "Have We Decided to Accept Violence as a Legitimate Response to Humor?"

"Have we as a society decided to accept violence as a legitimate response to humor? Somehow we have managed to rationalize incursions upon our fundamental freedoms as small exceptions for comfort. Which calls for more fear: a two-dimensional drawing or a mob of violent protesters?"

"There is nothing inherently threatening about the commentary, but there is in the disproportionate reaction to it. Without more heroic defenses of our freedom to criticize religious extremism in the face of violence, we may lose the ability to criticize anything at all. If we should not judge another society by the standards of our own, then neither should we be held to modify our societal freedoms by the standards of another. Just as Zank believes we should not incite hatred in the 'guise of supporting free speech,' I submit that we cannot curtail freedom in the name of tolerance."

La impunidad chavista

jueves, febrero 28, 2008

The Church should see the Cuban situation as one that clearly shows the always-present opportunity for a people, a culture and a nation towards faithful conversion. The seeds of a nascent and free Cuban society are planted. Now the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit, through Benedict presents a chance for a new Church presence in the restored New World and announcing spiritual freedom to an island emerging from Communist atheistic darkness.

NECESARIO VERLO.

*****

So Cuba has announced that Castro has resigned. This should be the first time that a corpse resigns in all history but of course, after nearly 50 years of Communist propaganda and no independent information in the island, we can safely say that it will be perhaps long till we know what is the exact time when he died or is going to die...

Anyway, the future for Cuba can be:

  1. a transition to democracy, similar to Chile after Pinochet or Spain after Franco. But that's much easier if the dictatorship has been of a far-right-winger than if it has been of a communist.
  2. a pan-American alliance with the "socialism of the XXIst century". Precisely, Castro has been the inspiration of Chávez and has good relations with the other two more important representatives of the movement in South America, Bolivian Evo Morales and Ecuatorian Correa.
  3. an evolution towards a Chinese/Vietnamese model of economical capitalism and a total abscence of civil freedoms or Human Rights.

Of course, the most desirable of all of them is without doubt, the first one. But we can't rule out the other two, specially in the present moment, when the Chinese allure grows around the world. Everything depends in the continuity of the Communist Party in charge of the island: if it fails, the transition would be much easier. On the contrary, if the communism is maintained in the area, an evolution towards a democratic regime where freedom and Human Rights are recognised and respected would be nearly impossible.

Anyway, looks like Raúl Castro has asked Brazilian Lula da Silva to help with transition and not to Hugo Chávez, something which, at first, can sound promising because Lula insisted on the respect to Human Rights.

Communist China has already expressed its wish of Castro recovering from his illness and of maintaining the "bonds of fellowship" the two nations have between them. North Korea dictator Kim has praised Castro as NK closest comrade, something which, considering the richesses they have "earned" during their mandates while their citizens have miserable lives is more than understandable. But well, that is something normal, considering that NK and Cuba are both Communist states. What is absolutely uncomprehensible is the support that an important part of the international left (even the self-called democratic left) has given to Castro and his Communist regime:

Many commentators noted this tendency of the Left to whitewash the crimes of Marxist tyrants, and to overlook completely the human rights abuses, the political prisoners, and the death camps. In 1981 Paul Hollander wrote a bit of a classic in this regard: Political Pilgrims: Travels of Western Intellectuals to the Soviet Union, China and Cuba. In it he documented the duplicity of the Left: denigrating pluralism and democracy at home while lauding totalitarianism and tyranny abroad.

Jeane Kirkpatrick penned a great volume in 1980 entitled, Dictatorships and Double Standards which also addressed this theme. She rightly asked why Western leftist intellectuals can criticise a free and democratic West while praising the vile and oppressive Marxist regimes.

And the religious Left was also sucked into such double standards. In 1985 Lloyd Billingsley wrote The Generation That Knew Not Josef: A Critique of Marxism and the Religious Left. In that incisive volume he critiqued those of the religious left who slammed America and the West while romanticising socialist dictatorships and extolling Marxist nightmare states.

Cuba, as I say, is a good case in point. The number of sycophantic admirers of the Castro regime has been depressing to behold. Sure, the former Batista regime was corrupt, and was no paragon of virtue. But things got much worse after the 1959 revolution, with thousands of Batista supporters executed, just for starters. From then on it was 50 years of tyranny and misery for most Cubans. (A MUST READ).

Spanish Socialist Government is the best example (for our shame) of this policy...

Anyway, the pan-American alliance Chávez has dreamed of, has of course, as main invited guest, the Castro's brothers' Cuba, elevated to the real influence and mentors of Chávez in international policy. Chávez, wasting the Venezuelan petrodollars, is financing every revolt that happens in South American countries. It's important to note that the machines used for counting votes in Florida in 2000 elections, belonged to several companies, one of which belongs to Chávez Government. And now they have proposed to build an ALBA Army, with very obscure purposes.

But that is not the only way Cuba can influence international politics: the most interesting one is the use of international organizations to block any attempt to oblige the Communist Cuban Government to respect Human Rights and begin the way to democracy. While at the same time, they are imposing their non-existent view of Human Rights on countries which have laws to respect them which are fulfilled. The election of Cuba for the HR Commission on the UN is one good example of this.

Will Catholic Church play a similar role in Cuba as it played with the Communist European countries in the 80's? We will have to wait and see.

Lastly, the Communist Cuba has freed four political prisoners but on condition of going out of Cuba. They are in Spain and have told their story to the MSM, though it has not been published by many. Video above (in Spanish).

Spanish Elections Watch: Zapatero (II), the tension and the drama

domingo, febrero 17, 2008

I wrote before about Zapatero and the economical problems and also about the relationshion with the Catholic Church.

But the elections draw near (March 9th) and the situation is not eased at all.

Last week Popular Party representative in the Basque Country, courageous María San Gil, was going to be the main speaker in a conference at Santiago de Compostela University. There about fifty Galician far-rightist independentists, insulted and tried to beat her. One of them walk to Ms. San Gil, placed his finger as it was a revolver in his temple and shout: "Hope ETA kills you". A bodyguard and two policemen were hurt in the attack. The images are very telling: someone, who lives with bodyguards' protection 24/7 because ETA has really menaced a lot of times to kill them, now is called "fascist".

A lot of people in the blogosphere asked for measures to be taken against the agressors: Hurssel, AntiPSOE,.

So the Socialist said they condemned the agression but they rejected to pass a resolution from Galician Autonomous Parliament, condemning it, the reason being: "we should not engage the Parliament in this conflict". But the position of Antisemite BNG is even worse: they have accused the Popular Party of wanting to win a political advantage of "anecdotical" incidents. The problem is that extreme independentists have beaten or menaced both Socialists and Populars at least in 4 ocassions in less than a month, apart from this one.

Some days ago, some electoral posters appeared in San Martín de la Vega with a shot in the forehead and most of the posters were burned. The agression towards María San Gil is one step further in the scale of violence during these elections. Violence which has not been absent from any of the electoral campaign since at least 2004's elections (read here, here). Or even without any elections.

All of the responsibles of the agressions belong to a single group, AGIR, a far-extremist-leftist independentist organization, has being menacing and practicing violence for some time. Seven years ago, a group from the same association, walled in the door of one of the Professors of the same University, Roberto Blanco Valdés, because he was using Castillian/Spanish to give his classes. Other Professors and teachers received similar menaces.

The association immediately boasted about the menaces in their webpage.

The Socialist youths justified the agression, stating that: "these are the fruits of the high level of tension and political radicalization the PP has brought throughout the term". But of course, this is normal if someone has killed/abused you, it's your fault. Typical of Zapatero's rantings.

El Cerrajero wrote:

The result can be a new civil war, but the socialits are now taking measures not to arrive to something they are used to lose, that is why they are just preparing everything, there is no war but a bloody repression.

This is truly related with the coward spirit of the leftist and no one has to be a great analyst to discover where are pointing the movements of the colleagues of Zapatero: they have destroyed the Army, reforced and made bigger the Moncloa's bunker [Moncloa is the official residence of the Spanish Prime Minister], divided the security forces -even they have built confrontations between the policial corps with "convenient" rivalries-, have destroyed the hierarchy's ruling with loyal servants -just take a look to the chiefs of the security forces after the March 11th bombings and consider who have been promoted or given medals to-. They have also raised the quantities in the reserved funds' budget [those are the ones who are secret or clasified, related to national security], have controlled most of the MSM, have eliminated the popular action, have the control over the Judges and the Prosecutors [the first ones using the Judicial Power's General Council, who must be named by Parliament; the second, because the Prosecutor's office depends from the Minister of Justice, both organically and economically] and have built a powerful machinery to control the opposition.
So, what does Zapatero think about this?

In the middle of this event, Zapatero had an interview with leftist and Zapatero's supporter, Iñaki Gabilondo, a Spanish Keith Olbermann, just for international readers to understand his "level". Partial, absolutely boring because of his partiality for Zapatero, the interview was the derision of nearly all the blogosphere.
But the worst was yet to come: the video frhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifom the interview distributed to the Spanish media had a very interesting part about what Zapatero wanted to do during the campaign. It should have been erased before the distribution but it wasn't. It runs:
- How are the polls going?
- Well, without any problems. But tension is convenient for us in the campaign.
- Yes, yes, you need tension clearly.
- So I'm beginning to dramatise since this week-end.

Zapatero and Socialists in general have been accusing the right of promoting tension (what here is called crispación) throughout since they won in 2004.

So what is the tension Zapatero wants to create so Socialists can win the elections again? Aquiles asks if it consists in another March 11th bombings (you have to consider that the judicial process over it did not resolve any doubt about the process... and that the detention of the Islamists arrested two weeks ago in Barcelona was a little rare...).

Of course, Zapatero's words were considered by most of the conservative Spanish blogosphere. Some examples:
  1. La tensión de Zapatero @ Agnetem: My opinion is that the President's words are extremely grave: he is instructing the news chief of a private (leftist) MSM to create tension between Spanish people, after presenting himself as the champion of peace, happiness.... Hipocrisy, cowardice: nothing of this is lacking in the President's attitude that answers a lot of questions about his "use" of the tension 4 years ago:
  2. El Optimista tonto @ Prevost: throughout all these four years, every critic from Socialists was that everything bad was the responsibility of PP.
  3. Tensión @ Luis. The voter should continue to be sedated, but he must vote. And the "tension" is the best way to wake up the monkey leaving the homo sapiens resting. Verbal violence, to identify the enemy. They need a finger and someone to single as the enemy. When Socialists' voters are occupied denouncing the dab guy, the one who pretends to throw them out from their comfortable state to the emptyness of uncertainty, they do not have time -and of course, no neurone- to consider the unnrealities in which they are sleeping in their happy ignorance.
Of course, after that, Socialists have begun to tell us how we must consider the word tension, as if we were all illiterate. Zapatero for example has said that "the tension is achieved making the people go to vote and explaining the ones who want a Socialist Governemnt what is at stake?". Really? Without condemning the agressions made to other parties' representatives (not only Popular Party's members are attacked, others from little parties such as UPyD or Ciutadans have also being attacked. Even Socialists have been attacked by minor parties's supporters without any condemnation from Zapatero).

So, the great mask of talante (something like character, but of course, character can be good or bad), exhibited once and again by socialists, has fallen.

Anyway, Zapatero has continued to exhibit those same (bad) manners, we are used to see by now, and has blamed the tension on the Popular Party again. He has stated that "PP swindles, lies, produces tension (after saying that, you see), produces confrontation and anger and makes undecent boycotts".

Portuguese blog O blogue atlantico writes:
We have percieved that since March 11. By the way, this is the inheritance European leftists have left.
With a commenter, saying: "who wants this man as an ally", because Portuguese President of the Republic, the curriculum vitae forger, Sócrates, is also a Socialist.

Venezuelan blogger Martha Colmenares compares Zapatero with Chávez, as both of them need tension to maintain themselves in power.

But Zapatero wants not to show that very widely, because he can lose more votes. So he has gone to have a "little soap" with the Holy See's Ambassador in Spain, Monseñor Manuel Monteiro de Castro, the Nuncio of the Holy See. He wants to show that there are no tensions with the Catholic Chruch, something which is really difficult in the present moment, after the insults, the continous blames and the disrespect bordering the menace that some of the members of the Socialist party have directed to Catholics during these past four years.
