Al-Qaeda: last news

Al Qaeda anima a los marroquíes a luchar contra los españoles de Ceuta y Melilla. Leed el link porque es muy interesante.

Digamos que esto no me sorprende nada. Ya ha amenazado varias veces con esta cuestión (como ya blogueé aquí, entre otras y precisamente, teneindo en cuenta la nueva franquicia de Al-Qaeda en el Magreb) y encima ahora el Plan de Reestructuración del Ejército determina que en Melilla vayan a reducirse efectivos, lo que sin embargo ha sido negado por la Ministra Chacón en una carta a Imbroda. Y además ocurre después de que se publicase que Zapatero si ganaba las elecciones iba a negociar la co-soberanía de Ceuta y Melilla.

Por cierto, que en esta "histórica reivindicación" (¿?) también apoya a Marruecos la Liga Árabe... y nosotros con estos pelos... digo, políticos...

Relacionado con Al-Qaeda hay que decir que Al-Zawahiri ha negado que el 11-S fuera una conspiración de Israel o de EEUU y ha acusado a Irán de propagar esa mentira:

El asistente más importante de Bin Laden en una cinta grabada acusó al chií Irán de intentar desacreditar a la red suní de Al-Qaeda, extendiendo la teoría conspirativa de que Israel estaba detrás de los ataques de Al-Qaeda.

Los comentarios reflejan que el líder nº 2 de Al-Qaeda está incrementando su críticas a Irán. Al-Zawahiri ha acusado a Irán de intentar extender su poder en el Medio Oriente, especialmente en Irak y a través de sus aliados de Hizbulá en Líbano.

¿La causa? Al-Qaeda es sunita e Irán es chií. Y puede tener relación con esta otra noticia: los palestinos se están pasando al chiísmo porque su financiación es iraní (qué convencimiento, ¿ehh? Poderoso caballero es Don Dinero, que escribió Quevedo):

las fuentes dicen que un importante número de operativos estaban adoptando la tradición chií, a pesar de que sólo unos cuantos han realizado una conversión formal.

"Es una decisión en relación con la carrera," una fuente palestina dijo. "Si eres chií, Irán y Hizbulá confían más en tí y puedes incluso obtener más dinero."

La Franja Oeste y Franja de Gaza son mayoritariamente musulmanas sunitas- Hasta el 2007, no se oía hablar de los chiíes en la Franja Oeste.

Pero durante el año pasado, las instituciones chiíes han comenzado a operar en las áreas palestinas. Las fuentes indican que los sunitas han demostrado poco interés.

Ahora bien, los insurgentes financiados por Irán, han demostrado un gran interés en el chiísmo. La familia del comandante de la Jihad Islámica, Mohammed Shehadeh, muerto a mitad de marzo en una operación israelí, se ha convertido de la tradición sunita a la chiíta en la ciudad de Belén (ayyyy, Señor, nunca mejor dicho) de la Franja Oeste.

(...) Las fuentes indican que los chiíes palestinos están también vinculados a Hizbulá. Dicen también que Hizbulá ha animado a los jóvenes palestinos, particularmente los efectivos de la insurgencia, a estudiar teología chií en Irán y Líbano.

Ahora bien, la pregunta que todo esto me suscita es: ¿estamos asistiendo a las primeras fases de una guerra más o menos larvada (otra más) entre las facciones chií y sunita del Islam por el control sobre Palestina? Con independencia de que eso puede (no digo que vaya) disminuir los ataques a Israel (puede ser que también intenten competir a ver quién le ataca más), si Irán consigue la conversión en esos lares de los palestinos, el problema puede extenderse. Hay que tener en cuenta que ya Arabia Saudí protestó por el Líbano y Hizbulá, en relación a Siria (también chií y aliada de Irán) hace unos meses:

Los lazos entre Siria y los saudíes son difíciles desde hace algún tiempo, sintiendo el reino que su papel en la búsqueda de una reconciliación entre las facciones libanesas y palestinas ha sido socavado desde Damasco.

Es lógico que Arabia Saudí y Al-Qaeda tengan la misma preocupación: tanto uno como otro son suníes y ambos tienen por objeto el Califato Global. Otra cosa es que los medios sean diferentes: los wahabíes son por métodos pacíficos, mediante la predicación y la conversión del Islam más radical, así como mediante la petición de privilegios para los musulmanes, a través de las mezquitas en Occidente, mientras que Al-Qaeda se vale del terror para conseguir esos mismos objetivos.

(PD).- The No. 2 of the terrorist net, Al Qaeda, Ayman Al-Zawahiri has encouraged the Moroccans to "fight against Satan's allies", in referrence to "the Spanish occupation" of Ceuta and Melilla.

Zawahiri statements were recorded and published in an Islamist web page, in the second phase of its answers sent through Internet to the Al-Qaeda leader from across the world.

A Moroccan, identified as Abu al Walid, asked Al Zawahiri about the role of the Moroccans considering the "Spanish occupation of one part of the remote countries of the Maghreb", in referrence to Ceuta and Melilla.

Zawahiri answered with quotes from the Quran such as the question "Why don't you fight in the way of Allah?" and added "those who have faith, will fight in the way of Allah, fight against the Satan's allies!".

The record lasts more than two hours, in which Zawahiri read each question and identified their author. It contains numerous questions and petitions of advice sent by Moroccans and Alegrians.

Jihad in the Maghreb

Zawahiri underlined the importance of "Jihad" (holy war) in the Maghreb countries.

"The jihad of our brothers in the countries of Maghreb is a step forward the Muslim Caliphate", Zawahiri stated.

In an answer to a question about the best way to fight agains the "Crusaders and the Apostates" in Algeria, Zawahiri advised the author of the question "to continue the Jihad of the Al-Qaeda's organization in the Maghreb countries, which are one of the best in acheiving the expulsion of apostates and in fighting the crusaders".

A question sent by a Moroccan woman asks for advice about the woman's role in the fight and more precisely, if the woman should abandon her sons to fight Jihad in the Maghreb countries.

"Well, at first we must say, that the Jihad should include everyone, but the Jihadists understand your needs. I'm not telling you to abandon your sons, but I'm telling you to be prepared for any service which the Jihadists can need", ansered Zawahiri.

But, answering if a man can leave the Jihad out of love or to study, Zawahiri ansewered that the holy war has always the priority.

Last december, Al Qaeda invited the MSM to interview its "number 2" in internet, according to a statement by As Sahab, the company which acts as a producer using the net to spread its audiovisual messages.

Everyone who wanted to, had the opportunity to send its questions from Dec 16th to Jan 16th through several Islamist web pages: Al Ekhlas, Al Hasba, Al Baraq and Al Firdos.

Al-Qaeda, and specifically Al-Zawahiri has already menaced with this several times before this one (as I blogged here, among others and precisely, considering the new Al-Qaeda franchise in the Maghreb). The menace comes in a moment when the "Army Reestructuring Plan" includes the reduction of effectives in Melilla, something which has been denied by the Minister Chacón in a letter to the President of Autonomous City, Imbroda. And it also takes place after it was published that Zapatero, if he won the elections, was going to negotiate the co-sovereignty of Ceuta and Melila.

By the way, in this "historical reivindication" (something entirely stupid because Ceuta and Melilla were conquered in XVIth century, when Spanish kings still wanted to conquer the North of Africa to Islamic conquerors, a plan which was stopped by the Protestand reform, which made the Emperor Charles V of Germany and I of Spain drive all his Armies to Germany and abandon the project) this ambition by Morocco is also supported by the Arab League... and meanwhile we are with this kind of irrational policy...

Anyway, Al-Zawahiri has also denied that Sept 11 bombings were made by Israel and has blamed Iran for these theories:

Osama bin Laden's chief deputy in an audiotape Tuesday accused Shiite Iran of trying to discredit the Sunni al-Qaida terror network by spreading the conspiracy theory that Israel was behind the Sept. 11 attacks.

The comments reflected al-Qaida's No. 2 leader Ayman al-Zawahri's increasing criticism of Iran. Al-Zawahri has accused Iran in recent messages of seeking to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.

The cause of this increased criticism of Iran can be in the difference of theological adscription of both groups: while Al Qaeda is Sunni Muslim, Iran and Hezbollah are Shia Muslims. And this piece of news can be the real base of it:

The sources said scores of operatives were adopting Shi'ite tradition, although only a handful underwent a formal conversion.

"It's a career decision," a Palestinian source said. "When you're Shi'ite, you become more trusted by Iran and Hizbullah and you might even get more money."

The West Bank and the Gaza Strip is overwhelmingly Sunni Muslim. Until 2007, Shi'ites were unheard of in the West Bank.

But over the last year, Shi'ite institutions have begun to operate in the Palestinian areas. The sources said they have drawn slight interest from Sunnis.

Insurgents financed by Iran, however, have demonstrated the greatest interest in Shi'ism. The family of Jihad commander Mohammed Shehadeh, slain in mid-March in an Israeli operation, converted from Sunni to Shia in the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

(...) The sources said the Palestinian Shi'ites were also linked to Hizbullah. They said Hizbullah has encouraged young Palestinians, particularly insurgency operatives, to study Shi'ite theology in Iran and Lebanon.

We have to take into account that Saudi Arabia had complained several months ago about Syrian role in Lebanon, accusing Syria of undermining its role to bring peace between Lebanese and Palestinian factions.

Could another war between Shia and Sunni be in the making for the control over Palestine and Lebanon? We can see though, the similarities between Saudis and Al-Qaedans: in the end, their goal (the achievement of the Global Caliphate) is common. The only difference is in their means to achieve it.
