La campaña anti-inmigración del Gobierno no tiene efectos - Anti-Immigration campaign: No effects on immigrants

Hace unos días escribí que Zapatero estaba intentando parar a los inmigrantes senegaleses con nuestro dinero.
Ayer leo que ha fracasado dicho plan porque "nada detendrá a los clandestinos porque ya conocen los riesgos":

En la zona, nada de todo esto asusta. Ni desgracias, ni penalidades, ni muertes, ni cárceles, ni nada. Si acaso, la deportación, que humilla hasta límites indecibles a los frustrados aventureros que, tras el regreso de caridad, se enfrentan a las comparaciones con la aristocracia de sus conciudadanos que sí consiguieron alcanzar suelo español, sea cual sea su situación real allí, siempre preferible, en todo caso, al vacío del futuro en Senegal o a las llenas promesas de sus autoridades. Los estudios muestran una y otra vez que los senegaleses tienen obsesión con España, a pesar de que los diarios locales, como el Walf Fadjri, reboten las tétricas advertencias de Médicos del Mundo sobre cómo sólo uno de cada cuatro emigrantes ilegales en Europa dispone de cobertura médica pública, especialmente, por falta de información sobre el “derecho” que le asiste de exigirla y recibirla, según comenta la organización humanitaria.

El ministro del Interior, Alfredo Pérez
Rubalcaba, adelantó que un pesquero español, el 'Tiburón III', encontró el miércoles frente a las costas de Cabo Verde, a 300 millas de Senegal, a un superviviente y siete cadáveres que estaban a la deriva como consecuencia del naufragio.

Rubalcaba dijo que la cifra de víctimas puede elevarse, ya que en la embarcación podrían viajar medio centenar de personas, según el relato del único superviviente.

El ministro informó de este caso en la rueda de prensa ofrecida en el Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear, donde firmó un convenio en materia de emergencias y seguridad física.

Fuentes de Salvamento Marítimo explicaron que en las próximas horas está previsto el encuentro del buque hospitalario 'Esperanza del Mar' con el pesquero, cuya base se encuentra en A Guarda Pontevedra.

Nueva ruta de asiáticos a través de Cabo Verde

Las autoridades de Guinea, Senegal y Cabo Verde han constatado el uso que hacen los inmigrantes asiáticos de su territorio, pues usan visados para llegar a estos países y se hacen con pasaportes falsos para viajar a Europa, una ruta, sobre todo la caboverdiana, desconocida por España.

Así se puso de manifiesto en la II Conferencia Policial Euro-Africana que se celebra en Gran Canaria, donde también se expusieron los efectos del sistema de libre circulación de Europa para los inmigrantes, que no encuentran fronteras una vez que llegan a España, si bien, al ser detectados, la legislación ordena que sean devueltos al país por el que entraron a la UE.

Ya vereis cómo esto no tiene ni la mitad de cobertura que la paliza que el desgraciado skin peludo le metió a la inmigrante colombiana. No, tendrá la misma cobertura que el brasileño que degolló a un taxista. Eso sí, luego todos somos unos racistas que te pasas porque UNO sea un bestia integral, cuando resulta que Ecuador es uno de los países más racistas de Sudamérica:

la madre de la adolescente agredida no quiere ni oír hablar del regreso a tan idílico país. Por el contrario, desea que su marido, actualmente residente en Guayaquil, se reúna con ella y con sus dos hijas en España. Los siguientes son algunos de los datos sobre la extensión del racismo en Ecuador, de ecuatorianos sobre ecuatorianos. Del racismo de ecuatorianos sobre españoles en el propio país de estos últimos, las bandas y pandillas formadas por aquellos ya han dado suficiente cuenta con múltiples asesinatos, violaciones y palizas desde hace años.

La realidad es que España se ha convertido en el país más multiétnico de Europa, y es el primer receptor de inmigrantes del mundo, sólo por detrás de Estados Unidos.

Las generalizaciones, que siempre son muy malas... Y los medios de comunicación: sin comentarios.

But they have not mentioned at all that the mother of the Ecuadorian victim does not want to go back to Ecuador and is asking her husband to come here, that Ecuador is a country where racism is very spread not only against Spanish, but between Ecuadorian nationals. But above all, no one has spoken about the terrible beheading of a taxi driver in Madrid by a Brazilian immigrant just the same day.

The reality is that Spain is now the second most multi-ethnic country in the world, and receives the greater quatity of immigrants, only after USA.

Espabila, Favila

Cuenta la historia que Don Favila, el hijo de Don Pelayo, murió por estar en una cacería de un oso y ser muy lento al esquivarlo. De ahí que se diga " Espabila, Favila que viene el oso" a aquellos que no parecen muy bien darse cuenta de la situación en que se encuentran.

Ahora cambien Favila por PP. Y podemos ver cómo está el patio.

Si leemos las noticias españolas de las últimas semanas, podemos ver lo penosa que es la situación. Primero fue el vídeo de campaña de las Juventudes Socialistas del PSOE que criticaba a los que usaban la marca Lacoste, como la prueba fehaciente de ser una piji-facha, cuando después se vio que más de un socialista también tiraba de marcas cuando le apetecía. La consecuencia fue que Lacoste anunció que pensaba denunciar al PSOE por injurias. El final será que Lacoste recibirá una indemnización con cargo a los Presupuestos. O sea, que pagaremos todos, nos guste o no, estemos de acuerdo o no con el video de marras.

Después vinieron comparaciones odiosas, pero no por las diferencias en sí, si no por lo que suponen. El vídeo de Zapatero en el que dice que con una sonrisa se soluciona todo, en el mismo momento en que pone una expresión de odio recalcitrante, es la más viva expresión del momento en que vivimos. Lo que hace es confirmar una vez más que su sentido del humor no existe, simplemente es una pose, como la del famoso talante.

Odio. El mismo que demuestra Carrillo, cuando acusa a la derecha de hoy de ser la misma que en 1936, en referencia a los mismos que él mismo asesinó (o fueron asesinados con su supervisión, lo que a estos efectos es lo mismo) y lo que ya confesó en 1978 que volvería a hacer, porque él no estaba arrepentido. Eso sin contar con una de las declaraciones más estrambóticas que he visto salir de la boca de un humano en los últimos tiempos (y mira que llevamos...).

ha rechazado que el franquismo sea "historia" y por el contrario ha afirmado que la dictadura sigue siendo una "mancha profunda" que, aún hoy, "está pesando sobre nuestra historia".

Los hechos acaecidos en el pasado son historia, nos gusten o no. El franquismo, que aún hoy sigue teniendo hooligans que lo apoyan hasta el punto de amenazar a alguien por criticarlo, no me gusta pero nunca negaría su existencia, como intentó hacer hace poco Labordeta y parece que comparte Carrillo. La principal labor del pasado tiene que ser precisamente aprender de los errores, pero desde el momento en que uno de los "bandos" dice que todos los errores fueron cometidos por el otro bando, no hay posibilidad ni de arrepentimiento ni de enmienda hacia el futuro. Así que seguimos con las mismas actividades que hace muchos años, sin respeto por las ideas ni posturas del contrario. O sea, sin que exista una cultura democrática real.

La medida de dicha falta de cultura democrática y de respeto a los valores que debe sustentar la misma podemos verla en tres noticias que hemos conocido en los días pasados. Primero, el Museo Guggeheim de Bilbao iba a mostrar en una exposición la radiografía del cerebro de Miguel Ángel Blanco, sin el consentimiento de la familia y con el cabreo más que justificado de todo aquel ser humano que, al menos, se precie de serlo. Porque hay que tener poca piedad y poca caridad para hacer algo así. Y, por supuesto, poco respeto a su propia esencia de ser humano. ¿Le hubiera gustado al director que su propia radiografía se exhibiera de ese modo? Pues salvo que sea un tipo excesivamente morboso -lo que no descarto- no creo.

La segunda es la imputación de Alcaraz, Presidente de la AVT, mal que le pese a muchos, por injurias al Gobierno por criticar la negociación con ETA. Lo malo es que lo que Alcaraz ha dicho es algo que no es nuevo, ni siquiera es el único que lo ha dicho. Es más, los papeles del PSE prueban que el objetivo de Zapatero para el País Vasco es muy parecido al que quiere Ibarreche y los batasunos.

Y la tercera es la recusación de dos de los magistrados del Tribunal Constitucional, porque no concuerdan con las ideas del Gobierno, por primera vez en la historia desde 1978.

Con este panorama, podríamos considerar que el PP lo tiene fácil para ganar las elecciones 2008, porque los datos anteriores son sólo los más recientes que se han producido. Además hay que añadir la purga interna a los que no son "de la onda" y las declaraciones diarias de Pepiño que avergonzarían a cualquiera medianamente inteligente.

Pues no, no es así. Sin llegar al pesimismo de algunos, la verdad es que el PP no sabe dónde tiene la mano derecha. Medidas como la de la enmienda a la ya de por sí penosa Ley para la conservación de datos para los comunicaciones electróncias, son acompañadas por otras que sólo de leerlas, merecerían que alguien les diera lecciones de Historia y no de las de Educación para la Ciudadanía precisamente:

el Ayuntamiento de Cáceres, gobernado en coalición por el PSOE e IU ha decidido despojar de su nombre a una calle dedicada a ”Los últimos de Filipinas”. Efectivamente, la travesía llamada «Héroes de Baler», ha perdido su nombre; al entender la corporación que esta denominación hacía referencia a milicias franquistas.

Normalmente, no me dedico a hacer grandes elogios de nadie. Pero el que a estos hombres que permanecieron desde el día 30 de junio de 1898 hasta el 2 de junio de 1899 atrincherados en una Iglesia porque pensaban que España no se había rendido a Estados Unidos y que les estaban mintiendo, les quiten una calle, no es sólo un olvido histórico: es el colmo del deshonor a unas personas que ni eran ricas -eran del "pueblo" ese que todos dicen ahora defender-, ni estaban allí en viaje de placer. Estaban defendiendo España. Aunque en los tiempos que nos ha tocado vivir eso sea simplemente un rasgo franquista, trasnochado o simplemente de extrema derecha o de derecha extrema. Y el honor y la dignidad sean algo perdido en esa misma Historia que, aunque se quiera borrar, siempre existirá [1].

Que el PSOE o IU se sumen a eso es algo que no nos debería extrañar. Que lo haga el PP, al mismo tiempo que filma vídeos para que todos pongamos en la ventana la bandera de España el 12 de octubre, es una hipocresía. Y creo que no hará falta que explique por qué.

Si realmente quieren que aquella parte de los ciudadanos que somos conscientes de lo que pasa, les votemos en las próximas elecciones, que ya saben que estarán muy reñidas, lo que no pueden hacer es pegarnos de palos, aprovecharse de nuestra labor y considerar que les seguiremos encantados de hacerlo. Ni siquiera es válido eso de que "queremos perder porque la situación va a estar muy mala". Si no tienen valor para enfrentarse a lo que viene, no se presenten, dejen que lo haga los que sí quieran enfrentarlo.

Porque lo que desde luego no puede permitirse es que consideren que vayamos a decir que llueve, cuando lo que pasa es que nos están meando encima. Con perdón de la expresión.

[1] Ejemplos de esto ha habido: Hatsepsut, la primera mujer faraón del Imperio Egipcio, reinó como tal. Construyó entre otros, el bellísimo templo de Deir el-Bahari. Pero su sucesor Tutmosis III borró su nombre de todos los monumentos que construyó como si nunca hubiera existido:

El PSOE ha rechazado, con la ayuda de los radicales de izquierda, una proposición no de ley defendida por PP, CiU, PNV y Coalición Canaria para que el Congreso respaldara los objetivos de la declaración "Unidad por la Libertad" promovida por los principales dirigentes de la oposición democrática cubana. El debate volvió a poner de manifiesto la alianza de facto del gobierno ZP con el régimen comunista y su desprecio hacia quienes en Cuba se juegan la vida en su lucha por la libertad y la democracia. Por cierto que la ciudad de Sevilla es una de las que más contribuye económicamente al sostenimiento del régimen cubano. Hace pocos días que en su visita a España, Condoleezza Rice defendía la necesidad de incrementar los contactos con los disidentes para buscar una salida democrática al régimen castrista y se encontraba con la sordera, cuando no hostilidad, de nuestro gobierno. El PSOE se coloca no sólo abiertamente en contra de los EEUU, los derechos humanos, y el sentido común, sino también en camino diametralmente opuesto a nuestras alianzas internacionales básicas, que son las democracias del mundo –no lo olvidemos- y no los reductos bolcheviques del planeta por mucha preferencia folklórico sentimental que les tenga nuestro presidente.

Esto es justo lo contrario de lo que pidieron Aznar y Vaclav Havel en Praga:

"Hay una política de apaciguamiento" de la UE con respecto a Cuba, dijo el ex presidente y ex disidente checo. "Esta conferencia debe enviar un mensaje a sus líderes: ése no es el camino".

Aznar recordó que su gobierno impulsó en la UE la Posición Común alcanzada en 1996, con la que el bloque pide a La Habana respeto a los derechos humanos y cambios a favor de la democracia.

Para Aznar, con ese acuerdo Europa dijo: "nada en Cuba sin disidentes".

Gateway Pundit escribió sobre este encuentro, en el que se dieron cita disidentes de todos los países (Irán, Bolivia, Rusia, Sudán, Irak,...). En él Aznar, Vaclav Havel y Nathan Sharansky insistieron en la necesidad de considerar a los Derechos Humanos como universales y no patrimonio de uno o varios países.

Granda, quien desde el primero de junio está en la sede de la Conferencia Episcopal de Colombia, fue uno de los rebeldes excarcelados por el Gobierno colombiano que pretende lograr un canje humanitario para liberar a 56 secuestrados, entre ellos, la ex candidata presidencial Ingrid Betancourt.

No me fiaría yo mucho del respeto de Cuba hacia los asuntos internos de Colombia...

Zapatero insiste en que será 'implacable' con ETA y aboga por la unidad

 Eeeh, ¿cómo decirlo? Pon cara de duro....

El presidente del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, ha asegurado que será "implacable" ante la amenaza de ETA y abogó por la unidad frente a ella porque, "si los demócratas no están dispuestos a pagar un precio político por el fin de la violencia, tampoco deben pagar el precio de la desunión".

Zapatero se refirió al anuncio de ruptura del alto el fuego de la banda terrorista al inicio de en su intervención ante el Comité Federal del PSOE, que se reúne en Madrid para analizar, entre otros asuntos, los resultados de las elecciones municipales y autonómicas del 27 de mayo.

En un duro discurso, el jefe del Ejecutivo subrayó que para lograr el entendimiento con todos en la lucha antiterrorista no pondrá condiciones ni exigirá rectificaciones. "Así -aseguró- se construye el consenso, así se demuestra la voluntad de entendimiento".

¡Qué impresionada estoy! Hmm, ¿y por qué ha esperado hasta hoy para serlo? ¿No podría haber empezado un poco antes, por ejemplo, no negociando con ETA mientras estaba a su vez negociando con Aznar el Pacto Antiterrorista?

Estoy totalmente de acuerdo con esto:

En circunstancias normales la detención de Otegi, sujeto despreciable donde los haya, me llenaría de alegría. En las circunstancias actuales me llena de preocupación. A quienes nos importa la credibilidad y la dignidad de las instituciones no podemos sino deplorar la inconsciencia con la que Zapatero maneja a su antojo, cual si fueran de plastilina, cual si fueran suyas, las instituciones del Estado y muy especialmente la Justicia.

Ahora parece que De Juana ha empezado a comer tras su ingreso en la cárcel de Aranjuez hace 2 días (¿por qué ahora sí quiere comer y en la anterior huelga de hambre no quiso?) Ahh, que no, que no ha hecho huelga de hambre tampoco estos dos días:

Según ha podido saber la Cadena COPE, en realidad el etarra no había ayunado estos dos días sino que se había alimentado a base de latas compradas en el economato de la prisión.

Mientras la izquierda abertzale marchará hoy en San Sebastián para apoyar a Arnaldo Otegi:

Tras la manifestación, tendrá lugar un acto político en el que intervendrá el portavoz de Batasuna Joseba Permach, según han indicado fuentes de la formación abertzale.
Otegi, detenido ayer por la Policía en San Sebastián, ingresó en torno a las 13.00 horas en la prisión donostiarra de Martutene. El arresto se produjo después de que el Tribunal Supremo decidiera confirmar la condena a 15 meses de prisión que la Audiencia Nacional le había impuesto por enaltecimiento del terrorismo.
El fallo afirma textualmente "no haber lugar al recurso de casación por quebrantamiento de forma e infracción de ley y de precepto constitucional dirigido por Arnaldo Otegi". La sentencia completa se hará pública en los próximos días.
Marcha contra ETA en Bilbao y Navarra
Representantes del Gobierno vasco, de PNV, PSE-EE, PP, EA y EB, así como de los sindicatos UGT y CC.OO. participarán en una manifestación convocada hoy en Bilbao por Gesto por la Paz bajo el lema 'Es nuestro derecho: paz y libertad. ETA ez'.
La marcha partirá a las seis de la tarde del Sagrado Corazón de Bilbao y finalizará junto al Ayuntamiento con la lectura de un comunicado. El colectivo también ha convocado una manifestación, con el mismo lema, en la capital navarra.

Y mientras en el País Vasco y Navarra salen todos unidos de manifestación, Zerolo&Co. siguen equiparando a ETA y al PP.

Les has dado todo lo que querían durante casi cuatro años. Les has dejado armarse, reorganizarse, presentarse a las elecciones, etc. Y ahora nos vienes, ZP, a decir que vas a luchar contra ellos porque no son de fiar. O sea, que Aznar tenía razón. ¿O es que te has quedado sin talante?

Eres el gobernante más inconsciente que ha tenido España desde que hay democracia. Tu estulticia nos ha llevado al abismo.

Los Reyes y el ministro Alonso presiden el desfile de las Fuerzas Armadas
El desfile militar, que constituye el acto central institucional del Día de las Fuerzas Armadas, se ha celebrado este domingo en León con la presencia de los Reyes, el Príncipe de Asturias y el ministro de Defensa y la ausencia del presidente del Gobierno. Comenzó tras el acto de homenaje a la bandera y a los que dieron su vida por España. Las novedades, los helicópteros Tigre y los aviones no tripulados.
L D (EFE) El himno nacional y la salvas, que envolvieron sendas ofrendas, dieron paso a los desfiles aéreo y terrestres, que pusdieron en las calles leonesas una muestra de un Ejército "moderno y bien dotado", Según Defensa. Las novedades de este año se centraron en ver por primera vez los tres primeros helicópteros Tigre adquiridos por Defensa, cuatro vehículos aéreos no tripulados y los medios motorizados de la Unidad Militar de Emergencias (UME).
Al acto asistieron, además de los Reyes, el ministro de Defensa, José Antonio Alonso, y la cúpula militar al completo, encabezada por el jefe de Estado Mayor de la Defensa (JEMAD), general Félix Sanz Roldán. El desfile, que constituye el acto central institucional del Día de las Fuerzas Armadas, comenzó a las 12 horas con la llegada de los Reyes, quienes recibieron los honores de ordenanza. Con un homenaje a los que dieron su vida por España, arrancó el desfile, que se inició con una exhibición aérea de 45 aeronaves.

La muerte del sargento Abril, producida por un artefacto explosivo, según la OTAN

During overnight operations in southern Afghanistan, one ISAF soldier was killed and two were injured when they came under attack by Taliban extremists in two separate incidents.

In one event, ISAF troops were involved in an improvised explosive device strike in which one soldier died and another was injured. In a second attack, ISAF troops were engaged by the extremists with both small arms fire and rocket propelled grenades, resulting in the injury of one soldier.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these soldiers at this time,” said ISAF Spokeswoman Lt. Col. Según una nota de prensa de la ISAF-OTAN, la muerte del Sargento Abril se produjo durante operaciones nocturnas en el sur de Afganistán, cuando fueron atacados por extremistas talibanes en 2 incidentes separados. El primero en el que murió el teniente Abril, fue producido por un artefacto explosivo, el segundo por fuego de armas cortas y granadas propulsadas por cohetes.

El gobierno ha afirmado que se trata de un accidente. El PP ya ha pedido una explicación de la muerte del teniente y una justificación de la tardanza en decir las causas de la muerte.

Es simplemente insultante que el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores diga que se va a hablar de todo, incluso de derechos humanos sin que se haga mención alguna a los presos políticos y de conciencia de Cuba. Los disidentes rechazan de plano la vergonzosa política del gobierno socialista hacia Cuba, el Régimen cubano nos desprecia y nos da por descontados y los Estados Unidos (Republicanos y Demócratas por igual) desconfían del actual gobierno de España.

Anti-Castro website launches an anti-Spain campaign

People that read this blog should be aware that I am not the least sympathetic for Castro, and that one of the reasons to my opposition to Mr. Zapatero and Clown Spanish FM Moratinos is precisely his policy towards the island. So I was today searching for news about the two Cuban soldiers that were killed yesterday because they wanted to escape the island -you can read more here- and I went to read babalublog.com.

To my (bad) surprise, they are supporting [*] a campaign that runs like this:

But the more things change the more they stay the same. The current Spanish government has proven itself to be tone deaf to the pleas of Cuban dissidents, preferring instead to follow a policy that suits Spanish hoteliers and other Spanish investors in Cuba. The same kind of policy that many accused the United States of implementing in pre-castro days. Except that according to former Earl E.T. Smith, U.S. Ambassador to Cuba in the late 50s, in his book, The Fourth Floor, Cuba had its best economic year ever in 1957.

Today Spain is a vulture feeding off the dead carcass of a broken nation. We intend to send a message to Spain with this campaign. We intend to speak firmly and with conviction. We intend to call a spade, a spade. Spain has found a way to sink its colonial hooks into Cuba again more than 100 years later.

Firstly, as you can see, they critisize the Government, and after they begin a campaign against ALL Spain, even if you despise Castro and would want Cuba to be a democratic State.

But then, they say "Spain has found a way to sink its colonial hooks into Cuba again more than 100 years later". Nothing more wrong. Zapatero does not act because of Spanish colonial past. Zapatero asks like that because he likes communism, thinking that the people who sustains it are nothing but socialist brothers somewhat confused. He is only concerned about sinking right-wingers, and above all Bush and Aznar. And as both of them -and other right-wingers- support the Cuban opposition, he thinks that he must go against them and support Castro.

Stephania, this is what I said to you here. I am much too angry and puzzled to know what more to say. I thought that campaigning for some ideas should precisely include to attack the people who attack you and to, at least, not to attack the ones who are supporting you. Not insulting and blaming on EVERYONE who belongs to a group of which there is an important number that support you. This is just as if we consider that all USA would be Pelosi or similar specimens.

In reference to the Spanish investments in Cuba -a lot of Spanish lost their whole savings because of Castro-, if the Government is considering more important the investments than the Human Rights of the Cubans, that would be very wrong, although I doubt that is Zapatero's real motive -if you have followed Endesa's takeover bid, you can easily see that Spanish investments are not his prior importance-. But tell me, is USA, UE or any other Western country, not doing business with China, Saudi Arabia, etc? Hmm, no, they are doing it: Yahoo, Microsoft, Google, etc to name the more famous. They have even denounced bloggers and activists who were surfing and blogging from their servers. And oil companies are still doing business with Saudi Arabia and other democratic countries. And what has been done by Governments? And no, I do not think that it is good if the others do something that it is positively wrong. I think that blaming one country for something that the rest do, can be safely called hipocrisy.

That, acknowledging that this Spanish Government is total mess and disgrace.

By the way, the last US Ambassador is a truly unbiased source. I am not saying that what he says is wrong or untrue. But, as someone interested in what happened, please, next time bring me the numbers.

Lastly, I am not going to stop defending the Human Rights of Cuban citizens or to consider my ideological position. Matters of concience and recognition of the dignity that every human being has in him/herself are above this sort of polemics.

About the Cubans: IHT says the Cuban government blames the behaviour of the 2 Cuban soldiers -who had kidnapped a Colonel, now dead, and wanted to kidnap an airplane to get to US- on the USA, and runs:

"The responsibility for these new crimes lies with the highest-ranking authorities of the United States, adding to the long list of terrorist acts that Cuba has been the victim of for nearly half a century," it said.
Havana says U.S. immigration policies giving most Cubans almost guaranteed residency encourages them to risk their lives to get to the United States and says that U.S. officials have long tolerated - even encouraged - violence against the Communist-run country.

Of course, nobody wants to get out of the Cuban paradise... where dissidents are imprisoned because of criminal pre-danger.

Fred Thomson, the unofficial Republican candidate for the elections of 2008, has written about Cuban healthcare system (you know, the best of the world and all that...):

The truth is that Cuban medical care has never recovered from Castro's takeover -- when the country’s health care ranked among the world's best. He won the support of the Cuban people by promising to replace Batista’s dictatorship with free elections, and to end corruption. Once in power, though, he made himself dictator and instituted Soviet-style Communism. Cubans not only failed to regain their democratic rights, their economy plunged into centrally planned poverty.
As many as half of Cuba's doctors fled almost immediately -- and defections continue to this day. Castro won't allow observers in to monitor his nation's true state, but defectors tell us that many Cubans live with permanent malnutrition and long waits for even basic medical services. Many treatments we take for granted aren't available at all -- except to the Communist elite or foreigners with dollars.

Para los que no entendeis inglés, uno de los blogs anti-catristas más importantes ha iniciado una campaña que, en lugar de protestar contra Zapatero, nos tacha a todos los españoles de querer seguir ejerciendo de colonialistas -Zapatero, incluido, lo único que me ha dado risa del artículo porque se necesita ser i-d-i-o-t-a para considerar que la posición del Gobierno socialista se produce por afán colonialista por proteger las inversiones españolas, y no porque a él le parece que son sus buenos coleguitas comunistas-. Obscure communist association supported by public money wants to try Aznar over Iraqi war

As I have blogged several times in the past, communist and socialist supporters want to judge Aznar because of his support to Iraqi war. I am translating the alert Monclovitas.com (from antizp.org movement) has posted on their website.

On April 25th, Spanish newspaper La Razón reported: "A foundation linked to Spanish Communist Party and which has received a lot of public money wants to judge Aznar because of Iraqi war". The Foundation for Marxist Investigations -that is its name- is making whatever it can, spending what is necessary, both in money and in efforts and supports,being its primary objective that, at least, Aznar is called to declare before any Tribunal. This association has received more than €1 million of public money over recent years.

What is worse is that they are doing it in total secrecy as not even their webpage has any mention to this intention. Everything is being done in secret meetings, e-mailings to associates and lots of calls to lawyers, organizations and work groups what would let them make a prosperous legal action against Aznar because of Iraqi war (a war in which Spain only sent some logistical support).

Also today the Judge from National Court Pedraz (left) has prosecuted US sergeant Thomas Gibson, the tank responsible, and two of his superiors, captain Philip Wolford and the lieutenant general Philip De Camp, for the death of Spanish cameraman José Couso in Iraq. He accuses them of a crime against international community, which Spanish Penal Code condemns with 10 to 15 years of prison.

El juez de la Audiencia Nacional Santiago Pedraz ha procesado hoy a tres soldados de los Estados Unidos por un delito contra la comunidad internacional y otro por el asesinato del cámara de Telecino José Couso y el reportero de la agencia Reuters Taras Protsyuk, el 8 de abril de 2003 en Bagdad.

En un auto dictado hoy, el juez declara procesados en esta causa al sargento Thomas Gibson, responsable del tanque que realizó el disparo al Hotel Palestina, y a dos de sus superiores, el capitán Philip Wolford y el teniente coronel Philip De Camp, por un delito que podría ser castigado con penas de diez a quince años de cárcel y con que el Código Penal español sanciona a quienes "con ocasión de un conflicto armado realizaran u ordenaran realizar ataques inidiscriminados o excesivos o hagan objeto a la población civil de ataques, represalias, actos o amenazas de violencia cuya finalidad sea aterrorizarla".

Of course, no mentions to the fact that José Couso did not have any assurance for him or his family  (click here for more; link in Spanish). He had what here it is called a "rubbish job contract", that is, low waging, no life insurance and virtually no job security. So his family is trying someone pays for his death. And what is better that to prosecute the three US marines? A very easy target...

At the same time, ETA terrorist De Juana Chaos goes to make some purchases, without telling it to Penitentiary Judge but with the allowance of the Directive Body of the Penitentiary Institutions. But that is subject of another post.

The immigrants of the cocktails molotov

I wrote here yesterday about them. But Yahel has more information of the operation:

When the cayuco was localised, the patrol ship tried to get nearer to intercept it. When they  approached, they found something totally surprising: the immigrants were waiting for them with cocktail molotovs which were thrown into the patrol ship. Considering the hostility and the danger, the agents decided to draw a zodiac near them to try to reason with the immigrants and explain them what the situation was and that their only intention was to rescue them and drive them back to Mauritania, their place of origin.

In this ocassion, the immigrants attacked the zodiac with sharp objects to prevent the intervention of the agents from the Civil Guard. Viewing this could drown the zodiac, the agents went back to the patrol ship, and the cayuco fleed to the Canary Islands.

The cayuco arrived at the harbour of Arguineguín in yesterday at midnight after being localised in the Gran Canaria waters. An agent for the Civil Guard flew from Mauritania to the Canary Islands and identified some of the attackers among a group of 57 illegal immigrants, 2 of them minors.

After being identified they are going to be flown back to Mauritania where they will be processed by the attack.

The Government from the Canary Islands insisted yesterday that the number of immigrants arriving there have descended by 60%. But they have certainly grown in violence. With the politics of the Socialist Government of soft treatment to all thugs, I think this behaviour is going to grow.

Pablo Molina wrote before the demonstración: "Los dirigentes del PSOE no pueden, sin caer en el ridículo, denunciar que en las manifestaciones que apoya el PP aparecen enseñas preconstitucionales, sencillamente porque lo que en las convocatorias a las que acude la derecha es un suceso marginal, en las algaradas de la izquierda es la norma. Repásese el archivo fotográfico de cualquier manifestación organizada por la izquierda, con los políticos del PSOE en primera fila, y si alguien consigue detectar una bandera constitucional de España que lo diga para inscribirlo en el Libro Guinness por su agudeza visual sobrehumana. Vice-President De la Vega: "This is the main party of agitation". She did not said that when she was in the opposition and Zapatero was nicknamed pancartero, that is, the one, who carries a banner, because of all the demonstration and banners he went to.

PM Zapatero and Interior Minister Rubalcaba are not going to attend the concert dedicated to the terrorism victims. The Kings have invited them with all the terrorism victims today at night. They do not want to see the victims after the massive demonstration.

Me da igual. No importa si son un millón, medio, más o menos. Son muchos. Muchísimos. Demasiados para ser todos fascistas, liberticidas, franquistas, crispadores, marionetas al servicio del PP o de un “Losantos” (cuánto poder en sus manos de ser así!) No percibo ni mareo, ni vómitos ni me apetece apagar la televisión (Por cierto, sólo Tele-Madrid ofrece cumplida información de lo que ocurre a los que vivimos en el extranjero). No veo ira, ni armas, ni puños cerrados por el odio.

Fernando Savater, de la mayúscula al punto, hoy en El Correo (via Daniel Tercero.net):

La argumentación más inconsistente y menos convincente para apoyar el disparate gubernamental con De Juana es apelar a las supuestas excarcelaciones de etarras antes del plazo debido por parte del Gobierno de Aznar o los acercamientos de presos realizados en el mismo período, para probar la 'hipocresía' de la oposición (la palma se la lleva la 'Ser', que siempre bate el récord de bajura con este tema, proclamando la gran noticia de que 'el Gobierno de Aznar' no actuó contra De Juana cuando el miserable pidió 'champán y langostinos' para celebrar el asesinato de Tomás Caballero: ¿sólo le falta decir que se los envió Aznar pagados de su bolsillo!). Como sabe cualquiera que se moleste en enterarse de las cosas, el PP insistía en cambiar la legislación para hacer cumplir íntegras las penas pero entretanto, como no podía ser de otro modo, cumplía con la legislación vigente y sus reducciones de condena. En cuanto a los acercamientos de presos, no respondían al chantaje de ningún recluso, sino a reiteradas peticiones parlamentarias y de medios ilustrados de comunicación. Si el Gobierno Aznar lo hizo mal entonces (aunque lo que hizo nada tiene que ver con la excarcelación mediante chantaje de De Juana Chaos) ¿por qué el PSOE no se lo reprochó en su día, cuando tantas cosas le censuraba en otros campos? Aún peor: si aquello fue un error, ¿por qué ahora se utiliza como justificante en lugar de haberlo tomado como advertencia de lo que no debe hacerse, visto el resultado? Es floja excusa para equivocarse el que otros se hayan equivocado antes y uno repita de buena fe los errores.

Zapatero: "This is the first a Government recognises that he has caved into ETA's blakmail"

Well, even if you do not believe it, he really said that in yesterday's session at Spanish Senate. Afterwards, he tried to mend what he had said and stated "this is the 1st time a political party accusses the Government of caving into ETA's blackmail".



The problem here is: Zapatero knew -as we all know now- that De Juana was not in the bad state he has told these last days. Someone who can maintain sexual relations in a shower is not in such a poor state as we have been told. Moreover, the act of exiting the ambulance on foot contradicts again that bad state.



Zapatero said that he was giving the 2nd grade (not excarcelation) because of humanitary reasons, that is, to prevent him from dying. So if it has been proofed De Juana was not dying, what is the blackmail about?



[Note: this is just a question. A worrying question. And I am not referring exclusively or mainly to March 11th bombings. There are other themes of interest here: his own talkings with the ETA terrorists before being president, or if he agreed with Carod Rovira in his meeting with ETA in Perpignan. But people should realise that if the Government is being blackmailes, we are all blackmailed. And the consequences of that blackmail are not know in the present and perhaps all them will be never considered].



But even if we consider that he thought De Juana was so frail as to die, he is totally contradicting himself his own words. In 1990, Zapatero stated about the hunger strike of ETA terrorists:

The Socialist Group shares the firm decision of the Government (Aznar) in front of an attack to democratic system as the colective hunger strike of imprisoned ETA terrorists, whose only final objective is not to fulfill the more accurate way to reinsertion policy inside the penitentiary system. This intent justifies in the political ground the firmness of the Government's position.

This is marvellous, isn't it? And very coherent with his present political assertions about the Aznar's Government (that had also its flaws, as every human-made thing but nothing compared with this...) making concessions to ETA terrorist, eh?? The firmness of the Government's position. My goodness...

Thanks to Prevost I know that PP from Tres Cantos (situated near Madrid) has been receiving terrorist menaces for some time. They are calling them "Fascists", "Hipocrytes" and are announcing "they will be taken to the same place as Franco and Miguel Ángel Blanco". While Franco was a dictator so unwholly separated and different from any democratic ruler -as all dictators-, this is a great disrespect for Miguel ángel Blanco, murdered by ETA terrorists, when Aznar's Government did not cave into ETA's blackmail. A very wrong and wholly undemocratic behaviour.

ABC.es: nacional - terrorismo - Lapsus de seductor

Desde que calificó de «accidente» el atentado de la T-4, Zapatero no había tenido un «lapsus» o error dialéctico de tal calibre. «No es la primera vez que un Gobierno cede al chantaje de ETA», dijo el presidente del Gobierno en un arranque de frase desafortunado de por sí, que, con la consiguiente interrupción de los senadores del PP, pareció una confesión en toda regla. Luego lo intentó enmendar con la misma frase, pero con el añadido de que «es la primera vez que un partido se atreve a decir que un Gobierno ha cedido al chantaje de ETA».

El Grupo Socialista comparte la firme decisión del Gobierno ante un método de ataque al sistema democrático como es la huelga de hambre colectiva de los reclusos cuyo fin único es desatender lo que es, a nuestro juicio, la vía más acertada para una política de reinserción dentro del sistema penitenciario. Ese intento justifica que en el terreno político la posición del Gobierno sea firme.

Demonstration next Saturday

Next Saturday, there will be another demonstration, this time it's the Popular Party (center-right) the one who calls the citizenship to protest against De Juana Chaos' 2n grade.



The Government's decission to grant De Juana Chaos the 2nd penitentiary grade for humanitarian reasons has been contested by a great part of Spanish society. Especially after police spoke about the unauthorised "intimate communication" (that is, sexual relations) he was maintaining the day before and that, when he arrived at the new hospital, he was walking without any kind of assistance.



So, Socialists are now trying to convince everyone that Aznar's Government was as soft as he is on terrorism. So they have produced a "report", in which they point out the excarcelations made during 1996-2004 period. PP has answered with another one in which they point out the excarcelations made by Zapatero's Government and the differences between De Juana Chaos and the rest of the cases.



Zapatero has also menaced with opening some clasified information about penitentiary policy of the Aznar's Government. He has also accused PP of "hypocrisy".



The session in Spanish Senate has been quite a mess, with continous shouts and noises. PP senators have called for the dimission of Zapatero, while the PP speaker have accused PM of telling ETA that "blackmail has results".



[Note: this is a stupid and idiot reasoning: it means that, just because some others had done something wrong, you can do it also wrong or even poorer, instead of changing everything for good. Of course, they are not considering this point of view].



It looks like there is another ETA victim. This time is, Ambrosio Fernández, an old man who has died because of the toxic air he breathe while in his home, which suffered an attack of terrorist street gangs last Jan 6th [festivity in Spain: it's the day of the Witch Kings, los Reyes Magos].



At the same time, a lot of people have leaved flower bouquets at Dominican Republic Sq. in Madrid, where one of the most bloody De Juana's terrorist attack was made (July 14th, 1986). Among the people, Aznar has gone to put his own bouquet, and has denied the reporters any kind of statement.



Navarra's Autonomous Government has called on Navarros to another demosntration, this time on March 17th to protest the "little reasonable attitudes of the Government towards them". According to Spanish Constitution, there is the possibility of making a referendum in Navarra to insert it into Basque Country. The reasons for this Disposition are obscure but it has been pointed by Otegi to make "peace a reality" in the area. He considers that everything will be solved by building a great Autonomous Community by uniting both... adding afterwards that it is just a lead to independence and to the building of a socialist state there. He is also asking France to give the Basque French country to this experiment. Of course, France has said no...



To measure the bad atmosphere Spain is leaving now, we can mention the statement Communist Director for Communication of the Majorship from Rivas Vaciamadrid. In his blog, Royo-Villanova has said that "it is a pity that it is not legal to imprison and torture the chiefs of the PP, impose administrative sanctions on the PP sympathisers and to reprimand their voters". A model of democracy as you can see.



Lastly, PSOE dissident Rosa Díez says that the next step is to let Batasuna present themselves to the May elections without condemning terrorism.

Friday's protests and new developments

As you know, on Friday, there were several protests througout Spain because of De Juana's caused by blackmail humanitarian release.

You can see some of these protests in the antizp.org movement:

León (by incompetencia.com): According to phestar, there were between 8.361 and 11.148 persons [considering 3 or 4 persons by square meter], which is a very important amount of people as this city has around 150.000 inhabitants.

Vigo: Elentir reports about the protest and has video and photos.

Ciudad Real: Looks like there were also 3.000 people protesting.

Alicante: Government's Delegate, Etelvina Andreu -Government's Administrative representative- tried to end by force the protest. A Police chief arrived at the place and firstly asked the protesters to have a much more "discrete" presence. But when he was ordered again to end the protest by force, the policeman, however, answered that it was too dangerous, as a great confrontation, could taken place. The concentration lasted for another 20 minutes. [HT Elentir]

Madrid: Prevost continues with his report -to whom I made reference yesterday-, telling that protesters went afterwards to Ferraz, where Socialist Party has its central quarters to protest. El Cerrajero has more videos of the event.

EL MUNDO has a recolection of more places where there were also events to protest De Juana's 2nd grade.

The police had denounced that last weekend De Juana was having "intimate communications" with his girlfriend, even if he wasn't allowed to do that. But the Interior Ministry had issued an order to let his girlfriend stay with him all day and night, something which is not allowed to any other prisoner. Here you can see the video (HT: Martha Colmenares).

But the actual development of De Juana Chaos' case is having another repercussions. If yesterday 10 prisoners from Almería announced they were also on hunger strike (they are marijuana dealers), they are not the only ones. Another 4 common prisoners from Galicia are also on hunger strike (HT Elentir).

Another 30 prisoners in Castellón have not obeyed the prison rules and are demanding the application of similar rules than that of De Juana. Penitentiary Institutions' Direction has alerted civil servants to be on guard as new protest could begin in a near future.

But Zapatero maintains that this decision was not taken because of fear but because of responsibility.

And Otegi -the spokesman from Batasuna- wants more: "without Navarra, we do not want anyhing". He has asked the Government to act with ambition.

"Abertzale" left has presented publicly in Pamplona (Navarra), their proposal to "a democratic scheme for Euskal Herria", in an event in which Batasuna speaker, Otegi, has stated that "from agreement to negotiation, the final goal in to build a Basque, socialist, euskaldun State". During his speech he has also made clear that Navarra's annexation is conditio sine qua non in their project.

He also asked for the abolition of the Political Parties Law -the one who made possible the illegalization of Batasuna, because they HAVE NOT YET condemned violence- and to put an end to the dispersion politics -ETA prisoners must be as far as possible from the Basque Country- and the Supreme Tribunal doctrines.

During the anti-war campaign before Zapatero was elected President, a lot of people were hit, insulted, menaced... and Zapatero, once President, declared that they were using their freedom of expression.

"A dead militant from PP, a happy basque separatist" (anti-Iraqi war campaign) -thanks to snipfer, I really could not see it...-

That thing always gave me the creeps, because for me, to menace and to insult, is the opposite to freedom. You are trying to make other people feel fear (personally or physically) and fear and freedom are not very compatible from my view (in fact, they are opposite).

So some idiots have attacked a PSOE office. And PSOE's Organization's Secretary, Pepiño Blanco -image below-, has blamed the PP, because "their extremist statements are booming the far-right".

Well, we are just improving: some months ago, PP was the far-right.

But, of course, this is not the worst thing that PSOE has said about PP: the Basque President of the Socialist Party has accused PP of being trying to give a coup d'etat. He has also asked for policial escort to defend Socialists from far-right people.

Hmmm, how many more stupidities are we going to listen? Look here: if people from far-right, with whom, in my case, I do not have anything to do, come to the demonstrations and stay there PEACEFULLY, even if I do not like that they come, what do we want us to do? Kill them? Make them leave? Call the police?

More than 80 flower bouquets and some candles have been placed in Madrid by anonymous citizens, where De Juana Chaos killed people, with messages like "Zapatero, dimission" and "Zapatero, not in my name".

2 out of three Spanish citizens reject the 2nd grade given to De Juana and 58% considers that Zapatero has caved into blackmail.

Other related question is how this Government is going to continue the persecution of ETA terrorism. What is clear is that the Government is going to use Otegi's offer as a triumph of "peace".
